Maura Cornelissen is part of a new generation shaping Belgian hockey. As the current captain of the Young Red Panthers, she guided her team to a silver medal at the 2024 Junior World Cup in Chile. A milestone that reflects both her leadership and her steady growth as a player. In 2025, Maura made her debut with the Red Panthers in the FIH Pro League in Argentina, a moment that marked the beginning of her journey at the highest level.
With Royal Antwerp Hockey Club, Maura continues to develop her game and strengthen her role within the team. Known for her work ethic and sharp game sense, she brings consistency and energy every time she steps on the field.
Outside hockey, Maura finds balance in simple things. She enjoys long bike rides and runs, loves experimenting in the kitchen, and rarely says no to a good coffee or matcha. These moments away from the pitch keep her grounded and give her the energy to push forward in her sport.
Maura represents the new generation of Belgian hockey; ambitious, driven, and preparing for the World Cup this December.
